Which Vs That:

Relative pronoun లో మరియు Conjunction లో which ని మరియు That ని   వాడడం కొంచెం confusing  గా ఉంటుంది . సాధారణంగా Which  ని వస్తువులకు వాడతారు . That  ని వస్తువులకు మరియు మనుష్యులకు కూడా వాడతారు. కానీ Restrictive clause లో మాత్రం That ని మరియు Non -restrictive clause లో Which  ని వాడతాము .Restrictive clause లో అంటే ఆ   Clause లేకపోతే  ఆ sentence meaning మారితే that ని వాడాలి. 

  Non - Restrictive clause లో అంటే ఆ   Clause లేకపోయినా ఆ sentence meaning మారకపోతే 

which వాడాలి. 

 Restrictive clause and Non -restrictive clause గురించి తెలుసుకుంటే ఇది ఇంకా బాగా అర్థం అవుతుంది. 

ఈ రెండింటి లో ఉండే ఇంకొక తేడా : 

ఈ క్రింది రెండు sentences ని గమనించండి . 

1. My phone that has red pouch is on the table.

2. My phone, which has red pouch is on the table

ఈ రెండింటి అర్థం ఒకేలా అనిపిస్తుంది . కానీ వాటి అర్థం ఒకటి కాదు. 

 My phone that has red pouch is on the table.
దీని అర్థం, నా దగ్గర ఒకటి కంటే phones  ఉన్నాయని అర్థం. ఆ phones లో red  colour pouch ఉన్న phone table మీద ఉన్నది అని అర్థం వస్తుంది .
My phone, which has red pouch is on the table.

దీని అర్థం నా phone table మీద ఉన్నది అని  చెప్తూ , దానికి red colour pouch ఉన్నది అన్న అదనపు information ఇస్తున్నాను.
 Restrictive clause and Non -restrictive clause గురించి తెలుసుకుంటే ఇది ఇంకా బాగా అర్థం అవుతుంది.
