'Down' preposition usage and explanation with examples in Telugu

 

Down : (క్రిందకు ) 

  1. ఎత్తు నుండి లేదా ఎగువ నుండి దిగువకు అని చెప్పడానికి, 

    (Higher point to lower point)

   Example : Tears ran down her face.  

                    ఆమె ముఖం మీద  నుండి కన్నీళ్ళు కారుతున్నాయి.

2. అదే దారిలో  ముందుకు అని చెప్పడానికి 

    

Example : Go down the road till you reach the traffic light

                 ఈ  రోడ్డు లో అలాగే ముందుకు సిగ్నల్స్ వచ్చేవరకు వెల్లు . 

                    He lives just down the street.

                 అతను  ఈ వీధిలోనే నివసిస్తాడు (కొంచం ముందు,  ఈ వీధిలో ఎదో ఒక దగ్గర)                

3. కొన్నిసంవత్సరాలనుండి , కొన్ని తరాలనుండి లేదా చాల కాలంనుండి అని చెప్పడానికి 

Example : But down the years the gap between the two families has narrowed greatly. 

కానీ కొన్ని సంవత్సరాలనుండి ఈ రెండు కుటుంబాల మధ్య అంతరం చాలా తగ్గింది.
